Jacob Meschke
digital journalist
I'm a journalist with several years of experience writing for a variety of titles, mostly on politics- and sports-adjacent topics.
Currently, I spread the use of digital tools around the The New York Times, from teaching reporters spreadsheet skills to building new resources to further the newsroom's audience growth goals.
Previously, I was a contributing writer for the Hearst magazines Runner's World and Bicycling, and an assistant editor for Forbes Finds, the e-commerce affiliate marketing service of Forbes.
In addition to Runner's World and Bicycling, I've published work with Michigan Radio, Deadline Detroit, the Buenos Aires Times, Perfil, USA Today, Campaigns & Elections, UPI, The Rotarian, Military Times and others.

work i've contributed to or been involved with that lacks a direct byline
This promotion announcement provides a bit of detail about what my current nontraditional editor role at The New York Times entails.
Since February 2019, I've been editing and digitally producing roughly half of the content that Forbes Finds, the e-commerce affiliate marketing service of Forbes, publishes.
During my time at Rotary International (2017-18) I helped draft and publish the majority of these messages, a direct address from one of the principle elected officers of the Rotary organization to Rotary members.
During my time at Rotary International (2017-18) I helped translate, organize, update, publish content and contribute to general upkeep efforts of the site, primarily working with Excel spreadsheets and the site's CMS.
I was on staff for five issues of North by Northwestern, culminating in my role as print managing editor for the Spring 2017 issue. The other issues are Spring 2015 (assistant photo director), Fall 2015 (associate editor), Spring 2016 (associate editor) and Winter 2017 (senior features editor).
I'm credited as a production assistant on most episodes of Stateside on Michigan Radio, which airs each weekday, in June, July and September 2017.
